The Singapore Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Workshop 2023 caters to participants at the basic to intermediate level, aiming to enhance their diagnostic skills and proficiency in musculoskeletal ultrasound. This comprehensive workshop covers bedside ultrasound techniques for upper and lower limb structures, as well as ultrasound-guided injectable therapeutics. Esteemed sports physicians and orthopaedics from various hospitals and clinics in Japan will be present to share their expertise and insights.
The workshop will delve into the clinical and technical aspects of ultrasonography, with a primary focus on major joints. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of basic ultrasound physics and knobology, allowing them to appreciate the clinical application of ultrasound in the evaluation and management of musculoskeletal injuries. Common sonoanatomy and pathology of major upper and lower limb structures will also be explored.
One of the workshop’s key highlights is the hands-on experience it offers. Through small group practice sessions, participants will acquire guided ultrasound scanning skills and learn the techniques involved in ultrasound-guided injections. Furthermore, the workshop will provide exposure to portable handheld ultrasound devices and introduce participants to injectable therapeutics, such as viscosupplementation and platelet-rich plasma.
