A: Monopolar RF delivers radiofrequency energy deep into the skin, generating heat within the tissue. During the treatment, patients typically feel comfortable at first, but as the number of shots increases, they start to feel heat and some discomfort. However, with Cellinew, the shorter shot interval significantly reduces the overall treatment time, meaning patients endure discomfort for a shorter period. Q: How have patients responded to Cellinew treatments?
A: One of my patients, a woman in her late 60s with extensive treatment experience, has regularly received monopolar RF treatments. A procedure that used to take 40 to 50 minutes for 600 shots was completed in under 15 minutes with Cellinew, which she appreciated. She even mentioned that it felt similar to Thermage.

A: Monopolar RF devices are designed to lift and firm the skin. They help improve skin elasticity and tighten the deeper layers. The Cellinew treatment is most suitable for patients in their 40s to 70s rather than younger individuals. Typically, skin elasticity starts to decrease in the 30s, and fat and collagen break down, leading to volume loss and the appearance of fine lines. Many patients seek ways to restore volume naturally and improve skin firmness. Q: How often should patients receive Cellinew treatments?

A: From my experience, there is very little pain during the Cellinew treatment. The device has a cooling system that can be adjusted to 4 levels, so if a patient feels discomfort, the cooling level can be increased. However, I’ve never had to increase the cooling, which shows minimal pain.
As for downtime, since the treatment involves applying heat, there can be some slight redness right after the procedure. Redness is a natural and positive response, indicating that the energy was effectively delivered. Some patients may experience mild swelling, but it typically subsides within 1 to 2 days.
A: There aren’t any special precautions. However, since the treatment works by delivering heat into the skin to promote collagen synthesis, it’s beneficial to maintain the warmth in the skin for as long as possible. I recommend using lukewarm water rather than cold water when washing your face.
A: Yes, it’s great to combine it with HIFU devices. Skin concerns become more complex as we age, including sagging and loss of elasticity. A HIFU device, like Ulthera, helps tighten the skin, while a monopolar RF device like Cellinew enhances elasticity in areas lacking volume. This combination yields excellent results, and patients often express high satisfaction.
Q: What would you say to those curious about Cellinew treatments?
A: Of course, the most well-known monopolar RF device is the original Thermage. The brand is important when considering treatments, but so is the practitioner. Treatments from famous brands can cost twice as much as lesser-known alternatives. Some of my patients have opted to receive two Cellinew treatments for the cost of one Thermage session.
Cellinew closely replicates the functionality of Thermage FLX while improving safety and pain management. For those who have been hesitant about Thermage due to cost, Cellinew could be a great starting point.
